The critics are praising Act of Valor for its realistic battle scenes and panning it for its “acting.” Once again the box office will speak, as the critics come in at Rotten Tomatoes with a 28% rating (based on 81 votes) while the audience comes in at 85% (based on closed to 10,000 votes). No matter, it’s no surprise the majority media has missed the mark as they have not had their finger on the pulse of the American public for quite a while.

Using real Navy Seals with actual situations taken from real life, the movie is a spectacular battle movie using genuine military equipment and bullets. These are not professional actors boys, they’re professional soldiers and as such have done a helluva job going outside their comfort zone to portray what they do everyday. Equally well done is the portrayal of the value system instilled for generations in military families, a little known subculture of America who’s sons and daughters have served and shed blood through every generation so that the freedom and “Pursuit of Happiness” of our founding fathers can be realized as America continues to be a country for and by all races and religions, a place where we are free to publicly state our opinions and ideals.

This includes the critics who have the freedom to comfortably sit back behind their computer and ponder what exactly does or doesn’t make a good movie, without fear of retribution for publishing their opinion.

When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the U.S., a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the valiant men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitment to country, team, and their families back home.

Each time they accomplish their mission, a new piece of intelligence reveals another shocking twist to the deadly terror plot, which stretches from Chechnya to the Philippines and from Ukraine to Somalia. The widening operation sends the SEALs across the globe as they track the terrorist ring to the U.S.-Mexico border, where they engage in an epic firefight with an outcome that has potentially unimaginable consequences for the future of America.
