12pm – 5pm

Tuesday, January 15, 2013 (Austin, TX) – On February 9th, hundreds of Austinites will brave the cold in a “mile-ish” tromp through downtown Austin in just their undergarments to raise funds and awareness for the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF). Individuals and companies interested in participating in this years run can visit for additional information.

Cupid’s Undie Run, the world’s largest organized underwear run, is a national FUNdraising run help the weekend before Valentine’s Day with a 2013 goal of raising more than a million dollars nationwide for Neurofibromatosis (NF) research in support of Children’s Tumor Foundation. NF causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, including the brain and spinal cord, and affects over two million people worldwide.

Three years ago, Chad Leathers, Brendan Hanrahan, Bobby Gill and Tamara Forys set off on a mission to raise awareness and donations to the CTF after Leather’s brother was diagnosed with NF. Today, Cupid’s Undie Run is a nationally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit, operated by dozens of volunteers all over the country.

Austin’s inaugural Cupid’s Undie Run, hosted by Molotov on West 6th, takes place on Saturday, February 9th. The “warm-up” party and race registration starts at 12 noon at Molotov and the undie run officially starts at 2pm. An after-party with performance from Cover Girl, Austin’s all-ladies, mostly 80s cover band, will take place after the race at Molotov until 5pm.
