Civil War re-enactment steals all the punch lines. Places like colonial Williamsburg offer escape, and Revolutionary War reenactments seem more like parades than wars. But the men of Delta 2/5(R) recreate the battles of a very different struggle: The Vietnam War. For one weekend a year, the woods of Oregon transform as a mix of combat enthusiasts, Iraq veterans, and even a former South Vietnamese Army officer, revive — by choice — a war that a whole generation would much rather forget. For their feature IN COUNTRY, Directors Mike Attie and Meghan O’Hara blend together documentary footage with period footage from the Vietnam War, as well as home movies from current soldiers to create an experience that gives the audience a window into what these men see in in the trees, and what they bring home on the other side.

After playing the festival circuit at Full Frame, Hot Docs and DOC NYC, IN COUNTRY plays the Texas Theatre in Dallas on Thursday, April 16th at 7:00 pm. AMFM Magazine has obtained this exclusive clip from the film. Check it out below, and check out the film this Thursday. Tickets can be obtained here.
