MARFA, TX (August 12, 2014) – The Trans-Pecos Festival of Music & Love has announced Gaby Moreno, David Garza & Adrian Quesada, Mother Falcon, and Ross Cashiola join the lineup for the festival taking place at El Cosmico, the hotel and campground located in Marfa, Texas, September 25-28, 2014. Weekend Festival passes, along with camping and workshop registration are available at elcosmico.com.
Guatemalan singer and guitarist Gaby Moreno has won praise for her songwriting and performances in both English and Spanish. Prolific singer-songwriter David Garza will join Grammy Award-winning musician and producer Adrian Quesada (Brownout, Spanish Gold, and formerly of Grupo Fantasma) on stage. Austin-based orchestral rock collective Mother Falcon consists of a rotating cast of up to twenty musicians on strings, horns, guitars and percussion. Sculptor and songwriter Ross Cashiola, the voice behind Marfa-based Hotel Brotherhood, will bring songs influenced by his life in West Texas after relocating years ago from Chicago. These newly announced acts will join a mix of performers bringing the sounds of rock, folk, country, Americana, blues, and beyond for a weekend of music, art, workshops, sandlot baseball, and more under Marfa’s canopy of stars.

The Trans-Pecos Festival experience also includes opportunities to check out sandlot baseball with Austin’s Texas Playboys vs. Marfa’s Los Yonke Gallos; community feasts including the Barbacoa Cosmicoa on Sept. 27 and the annual Marfa Public Radio (KRTS 93.5 FM) charity brunch on Sept. 28; along with a variety of vendors and workshops.
Attendees can register to camp on site at El Cosmico while at the Trans-Pecos Festival. And for those who don’t want to bring their own tents, attendees can rent one of El Cosmico’s standard or deluxe scout tents for the weekend. Space is limited, so those interested are advised to reserve now.
Festival passes are available now at the following prices: $140 for a three nights of music or $195 for three nights of music and camping. Tickets to the Barbacoa Cosmicoa Dinner on September 27 are $20 for meat and vegan options. And workshop registration is open at prices starting at $45 per person. Ticket prices will increase at the festival gates.
