INTERVIEW BY: John Wisniewski

Could you tell us about your latest album, Harrison? What was it like recording the album?

My latest EP is titled ‘Skin Game’ and it’s a collection of songs I’ve written over the past 2 years. The album has more of an upbeat vibe than my previous EP “Spectral Evidence,” just because I’m in a much different, and decidedly happier place in my life. I started the album thinking it was going to have a dark much more industrial feel, but then it actually ended being more electronic and dance influenced. It’s a fun mix of tracks you could get up an dance to, as well as more introspective deeper cuts. I also explore themes of sexuality and what it means to find human connections in an age of hook-up oriented online culture.

Tell us about the new single ‘BloodSport’ Can we expect a video for this shortly?

Yes! The video is coming out very soon. It’s basically a Techno-Infused Snapchat Style Male Model Orgy that plays out over the course of one surreal evening. I cast the entire video via Instagram, start the video off by shaving my head, and it only gets more NSFW from there… With Social Media being the way most people discover things these days, I wanted people to question whether or not this was a music video or just a wild night out.

Who are some of your favorite artists?

As a child of the 90’s I grew up listening to a lot of hyper produced pop music, “Candy” by Mandy Moore, anything Hilary Duff, super bubblegum. Once my tastes broadened and I shed my suburban skin I started listening to more industrial electronic artists like Plastikman, Nine Inch Nails, and Kraftwerk. New Wave artists like Gary Numan and Yaz really became the synthesis of everything I was interested in. I used to joke that the elevator pitch for my music was “Tears for Fears meets Britney Spears.”

What may inspire you to write your songs?

I find I get my best songwriting done at night when I’m restless or have too much on my mind. Songwriting is one of those things that you really can’t force, when it’s time to write something it just sort of flows out of you. I find myself writing a lot when something strange has happened, an accident, chance meeting or even just finding someone who you feel you genuinely connect with. Significant nights out and their results often lead to good songs for me as well.
Will you be touring, Harrison or playing any live dates?

Yes! I have live dates and festivals coming up this summer. I’ll be performing new songs from my upcoming album, and probably showing as much skin on stage as I can get away with. Tickets are available at my website

What are you doing when not recording or writing music?

Working on various other creative projects, editing videos, planning photoshoots, desiging t-shirts. I’ve been working on new merch that should be out really soon, inspired by some of my favorite fashion designers. I have one of those business oriented minds that you can’t turn off; I’m constantly dreaming up new ideas and thinking of ways to make them happen. I’m lucky to have amazing people around me to help me edit and bring my ideas to life.

What are you listening to these days?

Well Fifth Harmony’s ‘Work From Home’ is the only treadmill song you’ll ever need, so I’ve had that on blast since it came out. I’ve also been super into the music Travis Scott is putting out, it’s dark sexy and raw and his beats are on another level. I’ve also slowing been getting into K-Pop and recently discovered the boy band ‘BIGBANG.’ Their visuals and live performances are insane, the level of stage theatrics and production K-Pop groups have is unlike anything pop acts in the states are putting out there.
