Austin Texas considers its musicians to be a key asset and takes great pride in being “the Live Music Capitol of the World.” The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, or HAAM is a unique organization that serves the creative class by providing access to affordable health care for Austin’s low income, uninsured working musicians, with a focus on prevention and wellness.

On October 2nd, HAAM encourages everyone to come out and enjoy live music in unexpected places. It’s a fun annual event where you can shop, listen to music, and get to know some of the city’s musical icons.

HAAM Benefit Day, presented by Whole Foods Market, is a uniquely Austin event where businesses donate 5% of the day’s proceeds to HAAM to support musicians’ health. Musicians, most of whom are HAAM members, perform throughout the day at retail stores, outside stages, City Hall and more. The event runs from 6am to well past midnight and community members are invited to shop, eat out, listen to great live music and enjoy!
