    Signature, Year-end Business Conference For Executives in TV, Film, and Video Technology To Be Held In New York on Thursday, December 1, 2011

    NEW YORK, Nov. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Twenty-one of the industry’s most elite leaders will be participating as featured guests or panelists at this important year-end conference for television and video, Thursday, December 1 in New York City. The Fourth Annual On Screen Media Summit is presented by two highly-regarded television trade publications, Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News and will take place at the Sentry East Side conference facility located at 730 Third Avenue at East 45th Street.
    The On Screen Media Summit will explore immediate revenue opportunities for the business of all things on screen – – including movie-theaters, TV sets, computer monitors, and handheld mobile devices.
    With 2012 approaching, this full-day, annual Summit is ideally positioned to discuss plans and expectations for the coming year. The conference provides a chance to closely review the business and revenue opportunities in this critical time.

    The day’s agenda is defined by day-part.
    The morning sessions focus on the importance of programming and how it is acquired, branded and distributed to content providers and ultimately used to engage viewers. The morning’s featured interview guests are such industry leaders as David Zaslav, the President & CEO of Discovery; Steve Mosko, President of Sony Pictures Television; Turner Broadcasting Chairman & CEO, Phil Kent; and Anne Sweeney, the Co-Chairman of Disney Media Networks and President of Disney/ABC Television Group.

    The morning line-up also includes a Panel on Monetizing New Distribution Technologies. It features Jeff Cuban, Executive Vice President, HDNet; Rebecca Glashow, Senior Vice President Digital Media Distribution, Discovery Communications; Avner Ronen, CEO & Co-Founder, Boxee; and Doug Sylvester, Chief Strategy Officer, Avail-TVN.

    The afternoon sessions focus on revenues generated by subscriptions, advertising and financial investment.
    One session is an Executive Roundtable that will focus on the competitive issues in 2012. Participants include Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager, A&E Network and BIO Channel; Scott Koondel, Senior Vice President, Corporate Licensing and Distribution, CBS Corporation and President of Distribution, CBS Television Distribution; and Ken Werner, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.

    The afternoon will also include interviews with Neil Smit, the president of the nation’s largest cable TV company, Comcast Cable; Debra Lee, the Chairman and CEO of BET Networks who will define the impact of ethnic audiences in the business; Jessica Reif Cohen, First VP and Managing Director of Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, who will provide a view from Wall Street.

    Additionally, a unique block of three sessions will be dedicated specifically to advertising. One is a panel discussion on local advertising featuring, Bill Livek the top executive of Rentrak along with the heads of the ad sales divisions of the following cable companies: Joan Hogan Gillman, Executive Vice President, Time Warner Cable and President, Time Warner Cable Media; David Kline, President and Chief Operating Officer, Cablevision Media Sales; Greg McCastle, Senior Vice President, AT&T and Head of AT&T AdWorks; and Charlie Thurston, President, Comcast Spotlight.

    There is also an update on advanced advertising by Kathy Timko, CEO of Canoe Ventures, and the media planner’s perspective for the advertiser provided by Rino Scanzoni, the Chief Investment Officer for media giant, GroupM.

    The On Screen Media Summit is the conference for executives in the business of TV, film, video technology or media. The series of nine different one-on-one interviews and three candid panel discussions all feature the key executives who are driving the business today and into the next year.
