George Lucas’ Red Tails will open in Theaters January 20th, more than 20 years after Lucas first indicated interest in creating a film about the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African American pilots during World War II. Relatively low budget ($30 million),it will open near Martin Luther King’s Birthday and just before Black History Month. The film stars Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Nate Parker and Method Man and is directed by Anthony Hemingway, the screenplay was written by John Ridley. film was shot in the Czech Republic, and visual effects and score as well. Oprah Winfrey was on hand for the screening December 4th in Dallas and she commended George Lucas for his commitment to the education of young people in this clip:
