Taylor grew up singing and playing keyboard in his father’s church, and during his senior year in high school Taylor received the bronze medal in the NAACP’s National ACT-SO competition in Contemporary Instrumental Music.

During his first year at Howard University Taylor was personally selected by famed jazz bassist to be in the very first HBCU All-Star Big Band, and was the only freshman to receive this honor. While in college Taylor worked and played alongside jazz legends including Jimmy Heath, Benny Golson, Wallace Roney, Geri Allen, Eddie Henderson,Grady Tate, Charles Covington, Charlie Young, and many more. Taylor graduated from Howard University with a BA in Jazz Studies from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Soon after graduating from Howard in 2008 Taylor became the keyboardist for Grammy Nominated R&B Superstar Mario. While playing with Mario Taylor performed on BET’s 106&Park as well as Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and recorded a song on Mario’s 3rd album Go, which was released on the European version of the album. Taylor also traveled to Russia as keyboardist form Grammy Nominated Pop and R&B Singer Mya. During the same year Taylor did a stint as keyboardist for gospel’s 7 Son’s of Soul, appearing on cable’s longest running program “The Bobby Jones Gospel Hour”.

Taylor is recording his debut album “Return of The Phoenix” with 4 time Grammy nominated writer/producer/artist Sam “Shake” Anderson.
