Interviews by Christine Thompson

Wildly popular Ubisoft video game JUST DANCE, which has 120 million players worldwide, just took one step closer to total and complete immersion with a JUST DANCE LIVE tour slated to hit four U.S. cities in March: Houston, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles.  Houstonians ges a chance to see the show at the Revention Music Center March 22-25th.

The concept is simple, yet brilliant.  It gets players out of the living room and into a venue with other players and dancers dressed as the characters from the video game.  The show will last about two and a half hours, with participants actually becoming the stars of the show, complete with red carpet.  The show will take place all around them as they dance together to their favorite hit songs, such as:

We had a chance to talk to the progenitors of both the video game and the live tour.  Ubisoft’s Brand Creative Director of the JUST DANCE franchise Alkis Argyriadis and Hinde Daoui, Producer of JUST DANCE LIVE, took some time to explain what the show is about during the last dance rehearsal at The Dance Attic Studios in Fulham, London.

UK’s leading Creative Stage Director Kim Gavin, (who has put on some of the most spectacular and highest profile events in the world) and Costume designer Michael Sharp showed us what’s involved  in the back end of the production of a traveling show with 17 dancers and over 276 costume changes.
