Review by Paul Salfen

This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters now is Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, the adaptation of the popular board game that finally gets its due on the big screen many years after its boom in popularity. Chris Pine stars as a charming thief who goes on a quest with a band of ruffians to retrieve a mythical relic that may right a big wrong, but of course, nothing goes as planned. Michelle Rodriguez joins him in the quest along with several others you’ll recognize as budding stars to make sure that he doesn’t lose his daughter to a perfectly snake-like Hugh Grant. It’s funny, entertaining, original, has great effects with a perfectly scary villain and is the kind of movie you want to go see in a theater on the biggest screen possible. The only issue here is that at 2 hours and 15 minutes, it’s a little too long like many others these days. It would have been an incredibly tight hour and 45 or a decent 2 hour fun cut but here we get more than our share of the adventure. Otherwise, I’m up for another game! That’s it for this week. Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK, AMFM Magazine, and RECRD.
