GWAR: 30th Anniversary Celebration of Scumdogs of The Universe (INTERVIEW With Blothar The Beserker)

Interview by Paul Salfen

Paul Salfen interviews Michael Bishop, who personifies Blothar (and Beefcake the Mighty) about GWAR’s new EP has a distinctly western feel, and according to Bolton “has a weird 13th Floor Elevators vibe.”

GWAR are currently in the midst of the 30th anniversary celebration of “Scumdogs of the Universe.” This includes two Drive In shows set for Richmond, VA on October 10th as well as the release of 30th anniversary editions of the “Scumdogs of the Universe.” The album is available on CD, Double LP, Cassette and digital and is available for pre-order HERE. The limited edition box sets are nearly sold out and the last few are available exclusively at

Beefcake the Mighty opined; “Oh Oderus, alas, how we miss your bellicose belligerence! Our fans always want us to play the song ‘Sick of You,’ so naturally, we hate playing it and try to avoid it wherever we can. It really is the most ridiculous GWAR song there is. So, enjoy this tidbit Ding Dongs!”

Stay tuned next week for a huge announcement from GWAR, that will finally give something else to look forward to instead of death from boredom.
