This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. On Netflix now is In Your Dreams, a delightful animated flick that reminds you of those classic cartoon favorites in spirit. This one follows two brothers that go into their fantastical and sometimes bizarre dreams to visit the Sandman in hopes of granting their dream of a perfect little family. Writer-directors Alex Woo and Erik Benson have their hearts in the right place and they’ve worked on enough classics – Woo with WALL-E, Ratatouille, and Finding Dory and Benson with Toy Story 4 and together on Cars 2 and The Good Dinosaur to know what kids want to see – and that includes us big kids that now have kids. The key here is the imagination: the new fun characters like Baloney Tony (voiced by Craig Robinson) and relatable leads (like the father voiced by Simu Lu) going through real issues makes for the perfect mashup that show that projects full of warmth and heart go a long way – especially in a time like this when we need it most. Gather the family around and take in this sweet piece of fun that doesn’t require leaving the house. That’s it for this week. Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK, AMFM Magazine, and RECRD.
