NOMADLAND: Writer Jessica Bruder and Bob Wells, Who Stars As Himself In The Film (Interview)

Jessica Bruder, who wrote the book “Nomadland” that was adapted to screen by Chloé Zhao and Bob Wells, who stars as himself in the film NOMADLAND, give Paul Salfen insight into the film. NOMADLAND has 147 nominations and 201 wins this year, including Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture – Drama, and Best Director – Motion Picture.

Following the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada, Fern (Frances McDormand) packs her van and sets off on the road exploring a life outside of conventional society as a modern-day nomad. The third feature film from director Chloé Zhao, NOMADLAND features real nomads Linda May, Swankie and Bob Wells as Fern’s mentors and comrades in her exploration through the vast landscape of the American West.
