This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters now is One Battle After Another, the new film from Paul Thomas Anderson starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, and Teyana Taylor that’s sure to be a major Oscar contender this season. The story follows a group of revolutionaries that have to surface after years of hiding and being anonymous after almost escaping to save a family member. It’s an intense run that keeps up the pace even at 2 hours and 40 minutes that showcases each actor so well. It’s brilliantly written and directed and you can almost feel that Penn will take away the best supporting actor wins for his complete embodiment of his menacing character. This is one that will be a win all around because Oscar winners aren’t always commercial successes but this should be both. It’s fun, wild, satisfying as an audience member, and has a lot to say. It’s definitely worth a trip to see it on the big screen. That’s it for this week. Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK, AMFM Magazine, and RECRD.
