This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters this weekend is F1 The Movie, the high energy racing flick starring Brad Pitt that’s pretty much like Top Gun: Maverick on wheels. And there’s a good reason for that – it’s the same director, writer, and producer and a similar story to Jerry Bruckheimer’s Days of Thunder. So if you’re a fan of those movies and you like Brad Pitt, this one is for you. The story follows a former star driver that was sidelined by an accident decades before and gets approached by an old associate to get back out there with a Formula 1 team that’s falling apart and he’s pitted against the hot young rookie that he butts heads with and then…well, you can pretty much guess the rest. But somehow, even if a little predictable, it’s super fun and engaging – even at a longer than average running time. It’s a total popcorn movie that’s a crowd pleaser and one that should race to the top of the box office. It’s exactly what you expect and in this case, that’s a good thing. That’s it for this week.Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK, AMFM Magazine, and RECRD,
