This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters this weekend is Beast, a tight and lean 90 minute action flick about a man and his two daughters that have to fight off a lion in Africa that has gone on a rampage against humans when his pride was killed off by poachers. Starring Idris Elba, who gives more weight to the film than it probably deserved, the film is full of tense moments, jump scares, children in danger, and stressful moments that will keep the viewer on the edge of their seat no matter how silly it seems at times. It often makes you think – even after seeing it – what you might do in that situation. It’s man vs beast in the wild and you’re on their territory and don’t have the same strength or skills to survive or fight off such a creature. It would be a wonder if you could survive a few minutes in that situation much less a couple of days. So ok, it may not be the smartest, deepest, or most original experience at the theater, but it is pretty fun. That’s it for this week. Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK and AMFM Magazine.
