Fantastic Fest would not be Fantastic Fest without the Adams Family. This year the surprise was The Glorious Dead, the snowbound apocalyptic dark comedy that world-premiered at Fantasia, took its U.S. bow at Alamo South Lamar, and left Austin with a 2027 Shudder pickup — the clan’s fourth with the streamer after Hellbender, Hell Hole, and Mother of Flies. Paul Salfen sat down with director-writer-star Toby Poser and stars Lulu Adams and Zelda Adams while the Q&A glow was still on. They talked division in a town where everyone knows each other, duct tape in a cold kitchen, Lulu moving inside a monster suit, and why the next picture — urban, gritty, “our J.Lo” — is already shooting on the festival trail.
