    Ed Westwick Talks About Deadly Reality Show Thriller DARKGAME

    Ed Westwick in DARKGAME

    Darkgame centers on a Portland private detective heading up the task force investigating the case of six people forced to play out a deadly reality game show on the ‘dark web’ for the entertainment of the criminal underworld.


    Ed Westwick began training at a young age at The National Youth Theater in London. He began his career with appearances on British television series Doctors and Casualty. 

    His first major film role was for Anthony Minghella in the critically acclaimed feature Breaking and Entering opposite Jude Law, Robin Wright and Juliette Binoche. He went on appear in Al- fonso Cuaron’s Children of Men opposite Julianne Moore. He also starred in the independent features 100 Feet starring Famke Janssen and Bobby Cannavale and S. Darko a sequel to the hit movie Donnie Darko, as well as Son of Rambow opposite Will Poulter released by Para- mount Vantage.

    His breakout role of Chuck Bass came in the CW/Warner Bros. hit drama series Gossip Girl based on the tremendously popular book series, which catapulted Ed into international stardom.

    In 2009 Westwick was awarded the Young Hollywood Breakthrough Award at the 2009 Young Hollywood Awards.

    In 2011, Ed was cast by legendary director, Clint Eastwood, in the Warner Bros. period drama J. Edgar, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. He also starred opposite Felicity Jones and Bill Nighy in the sweet romantic comedy Chalet Girl for director Phil Trail.

    In 2013, Ed played “Tybalt” in Julian Fellowes’ feature film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet opposite Hailee Steinfeld, Damien Lewis and Paul Giamatti.
    Over the past few years, his other feature work includes: Bone in the Throat based on Anthony Bourdain’s best selling book; A Conspiracy on Jekyll Island opposite Minnie Driver, Frank Grillo, Dianna Agron, John Leguizamo and Anna Sophia Robb; and the British film Billionaire Ransom opposite Phoebe Tonkin and Ashley Walters.

    In television, Ed also starred as a series regular opposite Erika Christensen in the ABC drama series Wicked City. Other television work includes recurring roles in Snatch opposite Rupert Grint and Showtime’s Californication opposite David Duchovny.

    In 2020 he made his directorial debut short film, Tether starring Christiane Seidel (The Queen’s Gambit), which he wrote produced and, in which he also starred. The film premiered at the Mammoth Film Festival  He was also seen in the World War II feature Enemy Lines opposite John Hannah for director Andres Banke.

    He starred in the STX camp horror film Me,You, Madness, for director Louise Linton and in the period, dark comedy, series White Gold about 80’s window salesmen. The series was created by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris (The Inbetweeners). He co-stars alongside James Buckley and Joe Thomas. The series is for BBC2/Netflix. It is currently airing.

    Last year, Ed shot the feature films Deep Fear for director Marcus Adams, opposite Madalina Ghenea He also shot Wolves of War for director Giles Alderson, opposite Rupert Graves in Europe. He can currently be heard on the Bystanders podcast with Kristen Chenoweth, Heather Morris, and Wayne Brady.

    He shot the independent feature Tonic for writer/director Derek Presley. Ed is also a producer on Tonic, which comes out in 2024
