(Los Angeles, CA —July 24, 2019) “Sick Girl,” is the feature-film debut for writer/director Jennifer Cram (“Inception,” ”22 Jump Street”). Nina Dobrev (”xXx: Return of Xander”) serves as both star and executive producer on the film. Dobrev is joined by Wendi McLendon-Covey (”The Goldbergs”), Brandon Mychal Smith (”Four Weddings and a Funeral”), Sherry Cola (”Good Trouble”), Stephanie Koenig (”The Gay And Wondrous Life Of Caleb Gallo”), Hayley Magnus (”The Dressmaker”), Dan Bakkedahl (”Veep”), and Ray McKinnon (”Ford Vs Ferrari”).

“Sick Girl,” is a female driven comedy about a woman who feels that she and her life long friends have grown apart. This is very much a ‘be careful what you wish for’ film where a simple little lie begins to tear a whole community apart. The cast is led by Nina Dobrev as ”Wren Pepper,” whose white lie takes them all on an unexpected ride.

A Whereabouts Unknown Production the film begins lensing this month. The film is written & directed by Cram, lensed by acclaimed DP Ante Cheng (Sundance Award Winning “Gook,” and the upcoming “”Open a Vein”), and produced by Sean McEwen (“The Dougherty Gang,” “Whaling), Cassidy Lunnen (“The Go-Getter,” “Authors Anonymous,”) John Papsidera (Emmy winning casting director: “Westworld,” “The Dark Knight”), Jessica Wilde (“The Dougherty Gang,” ‘Whaling”) and executive produced by Takashi Cheng (“The Dougherty Gang,” “Whaling”).

“The truest relationships of my life have been those of my close girlfriends,” states writer/director Cram “I’m grateful to be able share an inside glimpse to this incredible bond with audiences everywhere.”

This is one of the first projects for the Whereabouts Unknown team, a privately financed LA based production company whose model is based on culturing quality content with “inclusivity” bringing together creators and financiers.
Nina Dobrev is represented by CAA, Lighthouse Management and Media & HJTH; Wendi McLendon-Covey is represented by UTA, manager Gladys Gonzalez & attorney David Krintzman; Brandon Mychal Smith is represented by ICM, Mainstay & HJTH; Sherry Cola is represented by ICM, Stark Mgmt & GDK; Stephanie Koenig is represented by Paradigm & Ziffren Brittenham; Hayley Magnus is represented by APA & MGMT. Entertainment; Dan Bakkedahl is represented by UTA, Authentic & HJTH; and Ray McKinnon is represented by CAA & Anonymous. Cram is represented by Artists First.
