Interview by Paul Salfen

Robby Krieger is an American guitarist and founding member of the rock band the Doors. Krieger wrote or co-wrote many of the Doors’ songs, including the hits “Light My Fire”, “Love Me Two Times”, “Touch Me”, and “Love Her Madly”. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Doors and is listed by Rolling Stone as one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.

March 14, he performed at the Belmont in Austin, Texas for SXSW 2023 for the GIVE A NOTE FOUNDATION, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. All of the donations received by the foundation go directly towards strengthening music education programs for all students.

Dennis Quaid and Andrew Cole performed songs which were sung by Jim Morrison for The Doors, and we got a chance to talk to them and Robby about his involvement with the charity at the soundcheck just before the show at the Belmont

Talib Kweli, Bartees Strange, Tribe Friday, Revenge Wife and Christian Crosby also took the stage that night to perform for the Give A Note Foundation.
