    2019 ACADEMY AWARDS ODDS

    0
By christine on January 22, 2019 Majors, Movies, Movies - Majors

JANUARY 22, 2019 – According to the latest Academy Awards odds from the odds-makers at www.SportsBettingDime.com, half of the six major categories are expected to be very competitive with Alfonso Cuaron (1/7) nearly a sure thing for Best Director for Roma;  Mahershala Ali (1/4) a virtual lock for Best Supporting Actor for Green Book; and Glenn Close (6/7) the definite favorite for The Wife.

The early favorites in the six major categories include:  Best Actor – Rami Malek, for Bohemian Rhapsody (5/4) and Christian Bale for Vice (5/3); Best Actress – Glenn Close for The Wife (6/7), and Lady Gaga for A Star is Born (4/1); Best Director Alfonso Cuaron for Roma (1/7) and Spike Lee for BlacKkKlansman (15/1); Best Picture – Roma: 4/3 and A Star is Born: 11/2; Best Supporting Actress – Regina King for If Beale Street Could Talk (6/5) and Amy Adams for Vice (2/1); Best Supporting Actor – Mahershala Ali for Green Book (1/4) and Richard E. Grant for Can You Ever Forgive Me (9/1).

Additionally, the odds-makers are offering 1/7 odds that the Academy bucks tradition of a single host for the show.  But if one host is chosen, Billy Crystal (55/1) is the likely choice.

Last year five of the six favorites selected by the odd-makers at www.SportsBettingDime.com were the eventual winners.  The only one they missed was Best Picture for which they offered 2/1 odds for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri and 3/1 odds for the eventual winner The Shape of Water.

Here’s a look at the odds-on favorites for the Academy Awards in six of the most popular categories from odds-makers at www.SportsBettingDime.com
