    DIGGER Movie Minute Review

This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters this weekend is Digger, the new

big swing high concept film from Alejandro G. Inarritu starring Tom Cruise – and it is something else. On one hand, it has moments of brilliance, the performances are all fantastic – Tom Cruise is great as is Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, and Jesse Plemons. The production design is incredible, the messaging is admirable, and it’s unlike anything you’ve seen before. To avoid spoilers, it’s impossible to talk about why things are much more unique than one might think but let’s just say all is not what you think it is from the trailer. It feels disingenuous to give a recap when there’s a big twist incoming. That said, saying ‘you’ll have to see it yourself’ is also not the right move because it’s hard to recommend this film to everyone. I’m not sure my family would like it, I’m not sure many friends would like it, and I know the general public will not love it so who is this movie for? Avant garde film lovers that love big hammy performances a la Inarritu’s Birdman? If so, why is it such a wide release in IMAX? It certainly won’t be the big Tom Cruise-style hit and probably not the awards bait it was previously seen as, but it is wildly unique and there’s something to be said for a big swing that will be considered a home run to many and a strikeout to just as many. It’s divisive but that makes it even more interesting. That’s it for this week. Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK, AMFM MAGAZINE, and RECRD.

“The Numbers Were Already There” – Dr. Nathanael Israel-Israel Says NASA Data Corroborates Book of Genesis

    1 Min Read
Dr. Nathanael-Israel Israel is not asking Paul Salfen to take a pulpit. He is asking him to look at a screen. The Beninese-born American scientist and founder of Science180 says twelve years in data he calls a scientific trashcan — numbers known since Newton, and verified, he says, by NASA — produced a formula an

They Knew It Worked When Two People Threw Up

Fantastic Fest is the week Paul Salfen treats like Christmas, and James Cullen Bressack has been trying to get into that room since he was eighteen. Fifteen years and one action movie later, he is back in Austin with I Have Proof, a 77-minute VHS horror he wrote and directed, and the first horror title
