This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters and online this week is Christmas Bloody Christmas, the other killer Santa flick that finds a robotic old Saint Nick on a killing spree. Like the other films from Joe Begos, you can expect sex, drugs, and rock n roll from extreme and profane characters that are wild yet quite fleshed out and fairly believable. Like VFW and Bliss, it’s quite visually striking, never dull, and at times, shocking. Riley Dandy makes for a strong and appealing lead and should be one to watch in the future. Her desire for hedonism that quickly turns to survival mode is wild to watch. It’s a neon drenched, grainy 16mm metal blasting wild ride: think Silent Night Deadly Night with The Terminator directed by Rob Zombie with a little High Fidelity character flavor thrown in. It won’t be for everyone, but if this description sounds appealing to you and you like a bit of Christmas horror, it’s likely for you. That’s it for this week. Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK and AMFM Magazine.
