Dr. Cosha Joseph’s Her Soul: The Experience – A Transformative Conference for Women’s Healing

    Interview by Paul Salfen

In a heartfelt conversation with Paul Salfen, Dr. Cosha Joseph, a licensed therapist, life coach, and the visionary behind Her Soul, shared her passion for empowering women through emotional healing and self-discovery. Her upcoming Her Soul: The Experience (Chicago Edition), set for October 24–25 at The Penthouse in Hyde Park, promises to be a life-changing two-day event. Featuring keynote speaker Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, special guest and gospel artist Bri Babineaux, and a dynamic panel including Councilwoman Crystal Smith, the summit is designed to foster vulnerability, connection, and growth for women navigating trauma and seeking purpose.

A Space for Healing and Empowerment

Dr. Joseph’s Her Soul: The Experience is more than a conference—it’s an immersive experience crafted to help women release emotional burdens and embrace their healing journey. “The experience is really a space for women to be vulnerable, to release,” Dr. Joseph shared. Specifically tailored for those who have faced trauma, the summit offers tools and community to support personal growth. With a blend of spiritual and clinical perspectives, Dr. Joseph, a therapist licensed in six states, ensures the event addresses both the heart and mind.

This marks the third iteration of the summit, following successful events in Houston and Atlanta. Each time, Dr. Joseph takes the experience to a new city, with Chicago as the next stop. “Every time I do it, I try to take it to a different state,” she explained, emphasizing her mission to reach women across the country.

    A Unique Approach to Connection

What sets this summit apart is Dr. Joseph’s intentional approach to its speakers and format. While past events featured prominent figures like Samantha Lee, Tamika Raman, and Real Talk Kim, this year’s Chicago edition highlights “regular women” alongside notable voices. “I want women to know that you don’t have to be of a certain stature to experience and go through things,” Dr. Joseph noted. By including everyday women on the panel, she aims to create relatable, impactful conversations that resonate deeply with attendees.

The event will also feature live music from gospel artist Bri Babineaux, whose performance promises to uplift and inspire. With panel discussions, guided healing sessions, and intimate conversations, the summit is designed to leave attendees transformed. “They don’t leave how they came,” Dr. Joseph emphasized, underscoring the event’s power to shift perspectives and foster growth.

    A Journey Rooted in Purpose

Dr. Joseph’s path to creating Her Soul was deeply personal. “This journey chose me,” she shared, reflecting on her early experiences in child protection with the state of Louisiana. Coming from a family touched by mental health challenges, she felt called to help others from a young age. Today, as the founder of outpatient behavioral health clinics, she is dedicated to bridging the gap in mental health care.

Her own healing journey, particularly after the loss of her father, inspired the creation of Her Soul. What began as a healing journal and affirmation cards for women navigating trauma evolved into the summit. “I created a Healing Journey journal as well as healing affirmation cards,” she explained. “And so as I’m promoting that, I’m like, okay, what else? Bringing the women together.” This vision birthed Her Soul: The Experience, a platform for women to confront pain, forgive, and reclaim their power.

    Practical Wisdom for Mental Wellness

In her conversation with Salfen, Dr. Joseph offered practical advice for maintaining mental and physical health. She stressed the importance of mindset, urging individuals to focus on how they react to challenges rather than dwelling on what cannot be changed. “If something negative happens, you have to immediately think past it,” she advised. Setting boundaries, practicing self-care, and protecting one’s peace are also central to her philosophy.

For therapists or aspiring healers, Dr. Joseph emphasized resilience and community. “The people that you have around you is very important,” she said, encouraging perseverance through challenges and the support of a motivating circle. Her own “Hail Mary moment” came with launching Her Soul, a leap of faith that has impacted countless women.

A Call to Join the Experience

The Her Soul Summit: The Experience is open to all who seek healing and connection. Attendees can expect a transformative two-day event filled with inspiration, practical tools, and a supportive community. Dr. Joseph invites women to visit her soultheexperience.com for tickets and information. Vendors and sponsors are also welcome to join, with details available on her social media handle, @she_counsels.

As Dr. Joseph shared, “Give yourself grace and take life one step at a time.” For those ready to embrace their journey, the Her Soul: The Experience offers a powerful opportunity to heal, grow, and step into their purpose. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a movement that’s changing lives—one soul at a time.
