AMFM Magazine Sits Down with the Hilarious Cast of Netflix’s FIXED: Adam Devine, Beck Bennett and River Gallo

Netflix’s animated feature FIXED is a wild, laugh-out-loud romp that follows Bull, an average, lovable dog who gets the shock of his life when he learns he’s scheduled to be neutered. With just 24 hours left with his, ahem, “best buddies,” Bull rounds up his pack for one last epic adventure. What could go wrong? Everything, apparently, and in the most gut-bustingly funny way possible. AMFM Magazine’s Paul Salfen sat down with the film’s stellar voice cast—Adam Devine, River Gallo, and Beck Bennett—to talk about the hilarity, heart, and unexpected depth of this canine comedy.

A Dream Gig Full of Guttural Noises

From the moment the conversation kicks off, it’s clear the FIXED recording booth was a playground for these actors. Adam Devine, no stranger to comedy gold, couldn’t stop raving about how much fun the project was. “This is one of those jobs where you’re like, ‘I can’t believe this is my life,’” Devine says, laughing about getting paid to make “guttural noises” and lean into the script’s already-hilarious lines. “It was so fun and easy. I just got to walk in, be silly, and have a blast.”

The script, penned with sharp wit, didn’t need much tweaking. “We didn’t have to try to make it funnier,” Devine explains. “It was already so funny on the page. I’d just say what’s written, maybe add a little flair, and we were rolling.” The result? A movie that’s as much about heart as it is about, well, balls and butthole humor—though don’t worry, there’s plenty of that too.

    Trusting in Genndy’s Genius

The cast credits much of the film’s success to director Genndy Tartakovsky, whose knack for blending crude comedy with genuine warmth elevates FIXED beyond a one-note gag fest. “When you hear the pitch, you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s a funny idea for a movie,’” Devine says. “But in lesser hands, it could’ve just been lowbrow humor. Genndy’s so talented, you trust he’s going to bring out the best in it.” The film strikes a balance, delivering laugh-out-loud moments alongside surprising emotional depth. “There’s a lot of heart and warmth to it,” Devine adds, ensuring FIXED resonates beyond its outrageous premise.

Voice Acting: Play Pretend Like a Kid

For aspiring actors, the cast had plenty of advice, especially about the joys of voice acting. Devine, whose distinctive voice has become a calling card, encourages newcomers to dive into the medium. “It’s so fun,” he says. “It’s like playing pretend as a kid. You can be anything with your voice, even if you don’t look the part for onscreen roles.” He feels lucky that early in his career, people recognized his vocal potential. “They were like, ‘You’d be good at voice acting,’ and I was like, ‘Me?’ But it’s been a dream.”

River Gallo, making their voice acting debut in FIXED, echoed the sentiment of staying true to yourself. Originally, their character was scripted with a German accent, but Tartakovsky had other ideas. “Genndy was like, ‘Just be yourself,’” Gallo recalls. “And I was like, ‘What a concept!’” That authenticity shines through, making their performance a standout. Gallo’s advice to young actors? “Be yourself. People latch onto that.”

Beck Bennett, also a voice acting veteran, sees the craft as a way to tap into pure creativity. “You can play anything,” he says, emphasizing how voice work opens doors that on-camera roles might not. For him, FIXED was a chance to let loose and have fun, a sentiment the whole cast shares.

A Movie for the Ages (Just Not for Kids)

While FIXED isn’t aimed at younger audiences, its irreverent humor and heartfelt story are sure to win over adults and maybe even inspire a few budding comedians. Devine, now a father, reflected on whether he’d support his son entering the industry. “This is my dream job,” he says. “If he wants to forge his own path and make weird sexual noises in a booth for a living, I’d be all for it. It’s a great way to make a living!”

As for the film itself, the cast is confident fans will love it as much as they loved making it. “We had so much fun watching it,” Salfen says, wrapping up the chat. “I know everyone’s going to love it.” So, grab your pack, hold onto your… pride, and check out FIXED on Netflix for a wild ride that’s equal parts crude, clever, and surprisingly touching.

FIXED is now streaming on Netflix. Don’t miss it!

When aspiring singer-songwriter Frankie Ramirez finally snaps, it isn’t because of some supernatural curse or masked stranger in the woods. It’s the weight of childhood trauma, the daily grind of internalized misogyny, and the brutal fat-shaming machine of the Los Angeles music business that pushes her over the edge—with spectacularly bloody results. That’s the raw
