Sight & Sound’s ‘NOAH—Live!’ Brings Biblical Epic to the Big Screen

For three decades, Sight & Sound Theatres has captivated audiences with its larger-than-life stage productions, bringing timeless biblical stories to vivid reality. This year, as the ministry celebrates the 30th anniversary of its flagship production NOAH, it’s taking the show from its Lancaster, Pennsylvania, stage to movie theaters nationwide. In an exclusive interview with AMFM Magazine, Katie Miller, Sight & Sound’s Director of Brand Development, shared the heart behind this milestone and the excitement of bringing Sight & Sound Presents: NOAH—Live! to cinemas starting September 18, 2025, in partnership with Fathom Entertainment.

A Legacy of Faith and Storytelling

Katie Miller is no stranger to the Sight & Sound stage. As the oldest grandchild of the ministry’s founders, she first performed at age four, marking the beginning of a 35-year journey with the organization. “My grandparents founded Sight & Sound, and I’ve been here ever since,” Miller shared. “It’s been a wild ride.” Having transitioned from the spotlight to roles in human resources, marketing, and now brand development, Miller is passionate about connecting the ministry’s rich history to its future. “It’s special to watch the family legacy continue,” she said, noting that her own children, nieces, nephews, and cousins now grace the stage.

Sight & Sound’s NOAH has been a cornerstone of the ministry since its debut 30 years ago. “This production broke all the rules of traditional theater and helped us discover our calling to bring the Bible to life,” said Matt Neff, Sight & Sound’s CEO. With its 55 cast members, over 100 live animals, and towering 40-foot sets, NOAH is a theatrical marvel. Now, for its 30th anniversary, the production is making history again by being broadcast live to movie theaters across the country.

    From Stage to Screen

The transition from stage to cinema is no small feat. “The show is very complex,” Miller explained. “We have 20 cameras hidden throughout the theater and in the sets to capture every moment, so you don’t miss anything you’d experience in person.” The result is an immersive experience that brings audiences aboard Noah’s ark, complete with real camels, kids, and a story of hope amid chaos. “We live in a hope-hungry world,” Miller said. “These stories of hope are what we’re honored to bring to life.”

The decision to broadcast NOAH live came from a pivotal moment during the COVID-19 pandemic. With theaters closed and audiences limited to just 200 seats—down from a 2,000-seat capacity—Sight & Sound launched a streaming platform to share their new show, Queen Esther, with the world. “It was a nerve-wracking moment,” Miller recalled, “but the Lord showed up big time.” That experience paved the way for NOAH—Live!, a one-week theatrical event designed to inspire audiences far beyond Lancaster.

    A Mission to Inspire

What makes Sight & Sound’s productions resonate in today’s world? Miller emphasized the power of immersive storytelling. “We want to transport audiences back in time,” she said. “With special effects, animals, costumes, and songs, we hope people see themselves reflected in these stories and know that God is faithful to them, just as He was to the characters on stage.” The ministry’s 800-strong team, based in Lancaster and Branson, Missouri, collaborates closely to bring these visions to life. “From scriptwriting to costume and lighting design, everyone brings their unique gifts to the table,” Miller noted. “It’s beautiful collaboration.”
    Looking Ahead

As Sight & Sound approaches its 50th year in ministry in 2026, the future is bright. A new show, Joshua, will premiere in Lancaster, while David takes the stage in Branson. The ministry is also launching its second feature film in early 2026. “We know we want to make movies and stage shows,” Miller said. “We’ll see where the Lord takes us from there.”

For Miller, staying grounded amid the whirlwind of productions and responsibilities comes down to daily surrender. “I start each day asking, ‘Lord, what do You have for me today?’” she said, citing advice from a mentor: “All you need to know is the next step, not all the steps.”

    Experience NOAH—Live!

Whether you’re in Texas or beyond, you can experience NOAH—Live! in theaters starting September 18, 2025. Visit noahevent.com to find a theater near you. For those eager to see the production in person, tickets and information are available at sight-sound.com. As Miller and her team continue to share stories of hope, NOAH—Live! promises to be a powerful reminder of faith, resilience, and God’s enduring promises.
