THE NUN II Movie Minute Review

    Review by Paul Salfen

This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters this weekend is The Nun II, the sequel to the Conjuring spinoff that apparently did will enough to merit another one, even though it wasn’t a fan or critics favorite. Although this one is an improvement, it’s still not that strong of an entry in the universe. The atmosphere is great and the jump scares are solid, but there are way too few scares and very little of the title character herself, who of course doesn’t have any lines anyway, but it doesn’t explain much more about her or the demon that’s masquerading in a nun outfit. Perhaps the greater the mystery, the greater the intrigue, but this story needed a little something else. It simply follows some tragic deaths of religious figures in the 50s that traces back to Europe with you know who and so Sister Irene must come face to face with Valak again. It was a bit too slow and a bit too dull for the most rabid of horror fans but it wasn’t without merit completely. It was just ok. Best to save this for a late night home watch closer to Halloween. That’s it for this week. Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK, AMFM Magazine, and RECRD.
