Starting from the historical streets of Deep Ellum and expanding to U.S. coastal cities, Aztec Milk Temple has captivated audiences since 2019. The band consists of members Scott Tucker, Braxton Fugate, Vincent Martin and Mathew Miller. In 2020 the band signed to Texas based independent label, Idol Records, releasing three singles, “Digital Natives,” “Milk,” and “Hey Mr.” and receiving critical praise. From their early performances around Texas, Aztec Milk Temple has garnered much cultural attention as the band’s dedication to visual performing arts and chaotic prose critiques both recent history and contemporary life.
The band’s debut album, ON TELEVISION recorded with Grammy nominated producer Frenchie Smith (Austin, TX) and Grammy winning producer Eric Delegard (Denton, TX) serves as a milestone achievement for Aztec Milk Temple, music fans and for all those interested in both neo-grunge and psychedelic music. With a unique blend of melody, composition and thought-provoking lyrics, Aztec Milk Temple’s debut album carefully dissects many of the societal issues raised by recent history. The band achieves this compositional task through critical analysis, juxtaposition, nuanced intention and by exhibiting oscillating prose, which shifts seamlessly from irony to sincerity. ON TELEVISON serves as a statement on the cultural phenomenon most recently defined as meta-modernism.
