This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters this weekend is Strays, the new raunchy comedy starring dogs voiced by celebrities including Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx. While it would be a kids movie in other hands with cute pooches and funny scenarios, this one, of course, has a lot of cursing, innuendo, and some violence. While it is very funny in places, animal lovers may be uncomfortable with the amount of abuse that the dogs go through at the hands of the humans, especially Ferrell’s owner, played by Will Forte, but keep in mind, the theme is revenge so it will be even sweeter to the friends of our favorite 4 legged friends. It should be noted that this is definitely not a kids movie, as several families left during the screening I attended. The humor may be sophomoric but you can’t help but laugh if you’re in the right company. Go with the right friends and it might make you howl yourself. It may be too much for some, but smooshing your snout in it is kind of the point. That’s it for this week.
